Our History
Roots and Foundations
This is the year it all began.
Adair Dutra, with his sales expertise and deep sense of responsibility, started operations as a commercial representative for safety equipment.
Racco Comércio e Representações
With consistent growth and market credibility, Racco Comércio e Representações Ltda was officially founded, already focused on technical and consultative support for heavy industry companies. This marked the transformation from an individual effort into a solid business structure.
Partnership with Pelican Products
The company established its first major international partnership with U.S.-based Pelican Products, a global leader in professional flashlights and protective cases. This expanded Racco’s portfolio and strengthened its position as a trusted provider of solutions for extreme environments.
Own Headquarters in Belo Horizonte
The company’s solid work and the Dutra family’s dedication resulted in the acquisition of its own headquarters in Belo Horizonte, MG. This space became a symbol of commitment to sustainable growth and the cultivation of trust-based relationships with clients, suppliers, and employees.
Infoseg
With a visionary spirit and passion for knowledge, Adair launched Infoseg, a pioneering digital technical newsletter that reached over 20,000 readers. Its simple yet ambitious goal was to provide high-quality technical content on workplace safety to as many professionals as possible.
Legacy Left by Adair Dutra
After battling cancer, Adair Dutra passed away, leaving an immeasurable human and professional legacy. His wife, Maria Antônia, and their children, Fernando, Paula, and Leonardo, took over the company, determined to preserve the values their founder had nurtured with such dedication.
Expansion and Consolidation
With the leadership transition complete, the next generation assumed executive management, bringing a renewed vision for the future.
They initiated modernization of the structure, expanded the portfolio, and strategically restructured operations in the national market.
Creation of the RacLite Brand
The group launched its own brand, RacLite, focused on professional portable lighting solutions for critical areas. It also secured international partnerships: NightSearcher (UK), a leader in high-performance flashlights, and B&W Cases (Germany), especialized in ultra-durable protective cases.
In the same year, the first international branch was opened, marking the group’s global presence.

Innovation and Technology
MSE – Mobile Solution Expert, was born, initially focused on mobile solar energy solutions. The goal was bold: to replace diesel generators with clean, autonomous, and highly resilient technology.
MSE opened a new era of innovation for the group, emphasizing modularity and technical robustness.

MSE Expands Its Projects
MSE broadened its scope with satellite communication systems and customized projects for clients operating in remote and hard-to-reach locations. With a focus on mobility, connectivity, and automation, MSE consolidated its role as an innovation hub within Grupo Racco.

Partnership with Telespazio
The group partnered with Telespazio, to develop Veloce, a satellite communication terminal with embedded technology and IP67 protection.

RACTEC
With growing demand for field connectivity and automation, RacTec was established as Grupo Racco’s technology division. Specializing in industrial IoT, traceability, and integration with management platforms, RacTec delivers innovation to operations that require visibility, control, and real-time intelligence.

Adair Dutra: The Power of a Legacy
The story of Grupo Racco begins long before the founding of a company. It begins with the life of Adair Dutra, a man who built everything from nothing — with unwavering faith, unshakable integrity, and a rare determination.
Orphaned from childhood, he was raised by Salesian priests at the Liceu orphanage in Campinas. There, he learned the trade of a toolmaker and a value he carried throughout his life: doing things well. At 15, with nowhere to go, he arrived alone in São Paulo. For nearly a year, he slept on park benches, without documents, an address, or support. Yet, he never lost faith. He rejected easy shortcuts and followed the only path he believed to be worthy: honest work.
He landed his first jobs selling installment plans, then as a toolmaker at Ford, eventually becoming a respected market representative. He was awarded “Salesman of the Year,” won a Volkswagen Beetle, and soon stood out at MSA do Brasil, where he excelled until deciding to chart his own path.
In Belo Horizonte, with the unwavering support of his wife Maria Antônia, he founded Racco Comércio e Representações Ltda. With limited resources but immense integrity, he won clients, trained people, and built a solid and respected company. His philosophy was simple yet powerful: “Nothing can resist good work. With love and dedication, your business will grow like popcorn — just put in the kernels and watch them rise one by one.”
More than an entrepreneur, Adair was a mentor and builder of people. He created the Racco Support Center for training, launched the Infoseg, newsletter, and dedicated his time to empowering occupational safety professionals with enthusiasm and generosity.
Even while facing a tough battle with cancer, he never stopped working, guiding, or dreaming. He passed away in 2004, leaving an enduring example of resilience, family devotion, and passion for his craft. His children — Fernando, Paula, and Leonardo — along with his wife Maria Antônia, continued his legacy with the same integrity that defined him in life.
Today, Grupo Racco is more than a collection of companies. It is the embodiment of Adair Dutra’s values: work done well, commitment to people, and the courage to innovate where no one else dares.
For those who had the honor of knowing him, he was far more than a founder. He was a teacher. And for anyone who experiences Grupo Racco today, it is impossible not to feel his story in every project, every solution delivered, and every step forward.
